The Amazing Adventures Of Me?

Hi, this four weeks have been packed! We have done so much and here’s my recount of it. Kapa Haka has been going hard and my throat always feels like sandpaper (it’s still really great though:) I love performing and singing waiata. We having been going strong for art too for instance we did Piet Mondrian art, he used red, blue and yellow plus shades. Learning about estuaries is tough isn’t it! Features include rocky reefs and exposed sand. I also did an “I come from” poem which includes memories that I cherish (or despise). We also did an “I am” poem which was fun.

Week 7 Term 3 Update

Kia Ora everyone. These few weeks have been jam-packed we have learned so much. We are currently doing math and learning about measuring areas and perimeters. Novel studies are also going strong we are so close to finishing the book it’s tantalizing. But for art it is almost everything we are doing first we learned about Kandinsky and his abstract style of shapes and colours. He was a famous painter in the late 19th to 20th century. Next we designed a hat I chose a cap and designed it like characters from an anime I like. Then we did a T-shirt piece of art. I drew a line across it vertically so it split it in half and then I covered one side in purple lines so it looked it was shattered glass and on the other side I drew light blue wavy lines like an ocean bed. Then we did X-country and I didn’t do very well at 5th place but I was quite ahead of the person behind me. For Kapa Haka we are learning the whakaeke and it is quite fun. We completed a Growth Mindset info-graphic we learned about the effects of growth mindset and how fixed mindset isn’t very helpful at all.

I found it relatively difficult to get the images onto it. But I enjoyed it because it was interesting to find out about growth and fixed mindset.

What’s been happening

Kia ora everyone over the last week and first week. Two weeks ago we had the Matariki gala which my Kapa Haka group had been practicing for about a month and it went amazing. We performed really well. This week we learned all about Cambodian patterns and designs, once we did we

drew an elephant with those patterns and style.

We are doing pause, breathe, smile and learning about growth mindset. With this mindset I passed stage 8 which means I no longer do primary school maths. And we are doing novel studies. We have described characters and researched words. We are also learning and writing narrative writing and we learnt about how to describe characters. For sports/P.E we are practising for cross country and we did cricket too.

I enjoyed it because I improved by fourteen. I found it challenging because I had to learn a lot and fast.

What has Happened

Kia Ora guys this is what we have been doing. We have been learning about measurement. We learnt that there are one thousand mils in a litre. We also learned about how bread is made and the uses of yeast and on Friday we made delicious bread. We did persuasive writing and I did mine about esports and why it should be at schools. At tech we also started to make stop-motion with Lego. We also finished our cooking class and the last thing we did was bake a chocolate cake. We also played our Kia o Rahi tournament. Skateboarding was by far the best though we only did it three times.

This is my padlet on bread.

I enjoyed it because we found out alot about bread. I found it challenging to find out what a staple food is.

If Squidward had hair

Kia ora, it has been jam-packed with tests and things.

A few weeks ago we did some digital art we had to follow a tutorial.we were doing this because art is apart of the curricula but also our class is really into art which is why I love this class. It was really fun and we could make it look like whatever we wanted. So I chose to look like Squidward because why not it was funny.

This is what it looks like. I’m proud of how well it came out and I like that my eyes came out perfect.
It came out really well and I love how well the hair came out. The hardest thing I think was the ears because of the small area to work with and the small rings.
I think you should have a try it was made on Kleki and it is fun and engaging.
